It is an RV park, as it turns out, although they offer tent sites somewhere. I came expecting to be in a tent-area, and found out that I wasn't placed there.
This location feels like it's far away from everything. And the entrance road is long, long, long, with lots of corny but cute signs of encouragement not to give up, you are almost there, etc. Recently logged and so looked muddy and like a storm hit. Nice, small "country store." and large RV gathering spot near clean but frigid (August) pool.
BUT! They are a happy lot until you are really unhappy. I booked 5 nights of tent camping, during Labor Day weekend, because they had a spot while everywhere else was booked in the White Mountains.
The female owner put me smack dab in the middle of an RV park without telling me, in a site so tiny that my tent and car wouldn't fit in the same space. There were two giant (!) electrical boxes on either side of my site, in plain view, and the wood fencing nearby was rotten...so was the picnic table.
I was an extremely stressed guest, in desparate need of peace and quiet. So, I was completely furious after a 4-hour ride, and I left without a word and lucked out in a tents-only campsite an hour away. I called, railed about how she could have placed me and my little tent amongst these huge RV's in an RV park, and then offered that she could take two nights, and refund me three...because she had two nights to book this site, this being Labor Day and in high demand. She refused, and took FOUR nights ofmy hard earned pay.
I will never forget Crazy Horse Campground and how they robbed me. I say this, because I know that they booked that site anyway.
Don't trust these people!
